The customer
Established in 1964, Bongiorno & Partners focuses on the financial affairs of medical and dental professionals. Its work spans taxation, insurance, finance and financial planning. Contracts, reports, proposals and customer invoices create a substantial daily demand for printing and scanning.
The challenge
With print and scan requirements well above 100,000 pages each month, the team needed equipment that could sustain a busy document environment with low maintenance.
Bongiorno wanted to replace 17 laser machines without asking its people to abandon the workflows already embedded in their working day. Reliability, running costs and continuity mattered alongside device performance.
The solution
Working with Epson and Orion Print Management, Bongiorno introduced a mixed fleet of A4 network multifunction printers and high-speed A3 enterprise devices. Different device sizes met different document needs rather than imposing one machine type throughout the office.
The new fleet worked with the existing PaperCut follow-me-print arrangement. Scanning continued to email, Virtual Cabinet and pdfDocs, with hot folders used by the two applications to collect scanned files. The installation retained those established handovers while changing the underlying equipment.

Document workflows
The technology supported the documents and processes the team already depended on.
Business document output
Contracts, reports, proposals and customer invoices were handled across the A4 and A3 fleet.
Follow-me printing
PaperCut provided the existing print-release workflow and worked with the replacement Epson devices.
Scanning to business systems
Scans were sent to email, Virtual Cabinet and pdfDocs, including the customer’s existing hot-folder processes.
The outcomes
Reliable print and scan workflows
Business Systems Manager Stephen Boyce reported that fast, reliable printing and scanning avoided workflow interruptions caused by printer failures.
Lower running costs
Boyce described the Epson solution as a more cost-effective choice that reduced time and money spent on less efficient printers. The case study does not provide a quantified savings figure.
Continuity for the team
The move from laser devices to Epson business inkjet equipment kept the customer’s familiar document workflows in place.
“We have found Epson to be the most reliable, cost-effective solution we have had so far. I would give them 9.5 out of 10.”
